Anne C. (Harpin) Vigeant, 79, of Marlborough, MA, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home. A lifelong Marlborough resident she was the daughter of the late George L and Kathleen (Werner) Harpin and the wife of the late Arthur H. Vigeant, who died in 2010.
She was a graduate of St. Anne's Academy, Marlborough, Class of 1955. Anne had been employed as an administrative assistant at the Commonwealth of MA Office of Business Development in the Worcester office until her retirement in 2003. She had also been employed at Metropolitan Life, the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce and Vigeant Motors, but raising her children was the focus of her life. She loved the beach, especially Gloucester, and enjoyed many happy vacations with her family.
She was a member of the former St. Mary's Parish and Our Lady of the Assumption Guild.
She is survived by her sons, Mayor Arthur G.Vigeant and his wife Susan, Gerard Vigeant and Stephen Vigeant all of Marlborough, her daughters, Dianne Plummer and her husband Eric of Marlborough, Anne Marie Kelley and her husband Mark of Marlborough and Mary-Beth Grenier and her husband Robert of Northborough, 16 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, George Harpin of Shrewsbury, Vincent Paul Harpin and his wife Anne of Marlborough and John Harpin and his wife Kathy of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5-8 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28 at 10:00 am at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough.
Burial will follow at St., Mary's Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough.
In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 N. Main St., Natick, MA 01760
