Carmela "Cami" Philbrick, 62, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 10, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her husband, Richard Philbrick, daughters, Lauren and Kathryn Philbrick, and her beloved dogs. She was the daughter of the late Edmond and Carmela (Bernard) Kennedy.
Cami is survived by her brother, Dennis Kennedy and his wife Carolyn of Southborough; her sister, Marie E. Gelina of Marlborough; her brother in-law Joseph Philbrick and wife Lisa of Gardner; her sisters in-law, Margarita Philbrick of Ashland and Paula Philbrick of Framingham; her aunt Yolanda Cira of Toronto; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is survived by her dear friends, Darlene Johnson of Marlborough and Doris Celluci of Wellesley. She is predeceased by her brother, Michael Kennedy of Okeechobee, Florida.
Cami graduated from Framingham South High School in 1974 and moved to Marlborough in the early 1980s. She worked at Framingham Union Hospital, Genzyme, Charles River Medical Center and, most recently, Wegman's in Natick. She also helped with the family business, Kennedy's Restaurant, for over 30 years.
Cami was a devoted mother, loving wife and cherished friend. She looked forward to family vacations in Maine at Pushaw Lake and visiting with her relatives in Toronto, Canada. Cami loved quiet mornings spent on her back porch enjoying a cup of her favorite Dunkins' coffee with her little dogs snuggled in her lap. She loved warm days at Wingaersheek beach, exploring cute country shops, and her cozy home filled with the sweet smells of warm candles burning. Her family and friends will greatly miss the beautiful holiday parties she hosted, bringing everyone closer together.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10am -12pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc, 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752, followed by a prayer service from 12-12:30 pm at the funeral home.
We invite everyone to then join us for a Celebration of Life at the Marlborough Country Club, 200 Concord Road, Marlborough, Ma 01752 starting at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, Cami wished for donations to be made to the Buddy Dog Humane Society, Inc, 151 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776 to help a pet in need.
