Carolee J. (Sousa) Sullivan, age 87, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. A Hudson native but longtime Marlboro resident, Carolee is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald R. Sullivan. She was the youngest child of Rose (Cabral) and Joseph D. Sousa of Hudson.
Carolee was a graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1947. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Framingham State University. Mrs. Sullivan was a respected educator who taught in the Marlboro Public Schools for twenty eight years primarily at the Hildreth School. Carolee was an accomplished pianist, an avid gardener, and a voracious reader.
In addition to her husband, Carolee Sullivan leaves two daughters: Beth Chase of Douglas, Susan Sullivan of North Andover and a son Brian J. Sullivan and his wife, Karen of Atlanta. She also leaves five grandchildren: Lauren Yurkus of Holden, Jamie Galvin, also of Holden, Kimberly Robinson of Winder, GA, Ryan Sullivan of Alexandria, VA, and Kelly Sullivan of Denver, CO. Carolee was also a great-grandmother to Kyla, Brooke, Marlowe, Kelsey, Quinn, and James. She also leaves a sister, Helen Lawrence of Fairfax, VA and a brother, Robert Sousa of Hudson. In addition to her parents, Carolee was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and her son-in-law, James Chase.
Per Carolee's wishes, all services will be private. She will be laid to rest at the Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. Memorial donations may be made in Carolee's name to: The Marlborough Education Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 5824, Marlborough 01752 or
