Music Emblem

Douglas (Doug) Joseph Babineau, 37, of Berlin, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly in Hudson, Mass. on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Born July 20,1981, in Newton Wellesley, to his parents, Richard "Dick" Babineau and Deborah "Honey" Babineau, Doug spent his formative years in Sudbury, Massachusetts as an active member of the sports and theater community, developing his passion for music along the way. He was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Class of 1999. Each life is unique and Doug's was no different, a gentle soul with a vibrant personality, he spent much of his life entertaining others. A talented musician with an affinity for the spotlight, he shared his voice, often to the tune of his favorite artist, Johnny Cash, by playing shows at local bars and venues, under the name D-Fresh. Doug thrived in the nightlife scene, through his music and time spent as a bartender, a position he enjoyed as it afforded him the chance to connect with his community.

Despite his love of entertaining others, his greatest and happiest moments often included his family. A family man, through and through, he loved spending time with his son, Jackson, aged 12. The two enjoyed movie outings, arcade days, and countless meaningful trips to get ice cream. He was, and always will be, a constant reminder to his family and friends to find joy and happiness in the simplicities of life. A big personality, he dedicated most of his life to making people smile. He was a phenomenal uncle to his nieces and nephews, and cared for them as though they were his own children; a trait he learned from his beloved Uncle Tom aka "The Unc." He was raised in a loving family, alongside his three brothers, Nicholas, Craig, and Scott. The four have always been close to each other, with a shared passion for music, something that brought them all together on a regular basis. He had a close bond with both of his parents, Dick and Debbie as well. Doug is survived by his parents, Richard "Dick" Babineau and Deborah "Honey" Babineau of Berlin, Mass; his brothers, Nicholas Babineau and wife Lizanne of Berlin, Mass.; Craig Babineau of Berlin, Mass.; Scott Babineau and his wife Alissa Frazier of Marlborough, Mass.; and the light of his life, his son, Jackson Babineau of Orleans, Mass. Additionally, Doug leaves behind loving uncles, aunts, two nieces and two nephews and Jackson's mother, Brandi Felt of Orleans, Mass. and many caring loving friends.

"Life and love go on, let the music play." - Johnny Cash
