Koni (Botka) Walckner (Constance), died peacefully in her sleep, on Saturday, February 13, 2016.She was surrounded by her husband James D. Walckner, to whom she was devoted, and her loving family.
Born in Hudson, MA, on June 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Kristy and Sophie (Koki) Botka.
She was a graduate of Hudson High School and trained at Brigham and Women's Hospital as an x-ray technician. She worked at Framingham Union Hospital in the x-ray department until her marriage in 1974 but continued to serve Framingham Union through the Hospital Aid Association and was enormously successful in fund raising for the hospital. Koni had many outside interests and traveled extensively throughout the world.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Jim and his wife Jan; her daughter, Teri and her husband Lou; her son, Bruce; her daughter, Bonnie and her husband Leo; her grandchildren, James David,Jodi and Stacey and her great- grandchildren, Averie, Savannah, Aiden, Mason, Miley and Maddox. She is also survived by her brother, Andon and his wife Anne; her sister-in-law, Harriett; her nieces, Kelly and Chris Ann; her nephew, Christopher; her grand-nieces, Eloise and Imogene and her grand-nephews, Dominic and Timothy.
A service was held for family and close friends on Sunday, February 14 at the Slattery Funeral Home, inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
Services at the Annunciation Orthodox Church, 37 Washington St., Natick, MA, will be held at a later date.
