Lucille P. (Ouellette) Langevin, 93, of Marlborough, MA, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Coleman House in Northborough, MA.
Born in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie Anna (Jean) Ouellette and the wife of the late Henry J. Langevin who died in 2013.
A NH resident until her marriage in 1950, Mrs. Langevin graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Nashua, NH. Through the years she continued her education at various colleges including Boston, Framingham and Clark Universities, earning a BS Degree in Nursing from Worcester State College and in 1987, a Master's Degree in Nursing from Anna Maria College, Paxton. She had been employed at Hale Hospital and several VA facilities including, Cushing Hospital Framingham, Boston and Bronx, NY.
After receiving post graduate training at McLean Hospital in the psychiatric program, she was employed at Marlborough Hospital on the Mental Health Unit. She also worked at the day program for Marlborough/Westborough programs and an outreach program run by the Commonwealth of MA, which helped individuals transition from hospital living back to the community.
While a homemaker, she volunteered at Marlborough Hospital, assisted with a Brownie troop, was a member of the PTO Association at the Bessie Freeman School and for over 20 years was a dedicated volunteer for AARP.
She is survived by her children, Henry J. Langevin, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Marlborough and Diane Dykes and her husband David of Hudson as well as her grandsons, Henry J. Langevin, III and Timothy Langevin, both of Marlborough, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Muriel Anctil Garrity, Beatrice Truex and Raymond Ouellette.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2018 from 5-7 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 11 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Assoc., 309 Waverley Oakes Rd, Waltham, MA 02452
