Marcia Ann (Wells) Gelina, 79, formerly of Marlborough, died Saturday, February 27, 2016.
Born November 9, 1936 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late George Dyer Wells and Bertha (Barnes) Wells and the wife of the late Frederick Edmund Gelina,who died in 2004.
She was a lifelong member of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf and a long time member of the Worcester Deaf Club. She was educated at the Upsala School for the Deaf in Worcester as well as the American School for the Deaf in Connecticut.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Norma and Paul Zeringue of North Grafton, Germaine and John Brennan of Hudson, and Laura and Rustin Kyle of Marlborough, her nine beloved grandchildren, Jasmine and Emily Zeringue; Sierra, Kaleigh, Taylor and Ryan Brennan; and Reese, Robbie, and Rory Kyle and many much loved nieces,nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was also the sister of Joan Pierce of Worcester, MA, Diane Fields and her husband Ellett of Virginia Beach, VA and Ward Wells and his wife Cheryl of Hockessin, DE and the sister of the late Dorothy Brown, formerly of Auburn, MA.
A home maker, Marcia enjoyed a variety of hobbies including latch hooking and knitting and in her youth, bowling. She will be sorely missed for her fantastically wonderful hugs, which are legendary in her family.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 4 from 4-7 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
Burial will be private and held at a later date.
