M. Elizabeth (DiRado) Cutone, 92, of Marlborough died Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at Marlborough Hospital.
Born and raised in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Orazio and Rose (Ricci) DiRado and the wife of the late Benedetto Cutone, who died in 2002.A graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1938, Mrs.Cutone had been employed as a print framer at the Wallace Nutting Studios, Waltham, MA. She had been a member of the former St. Ann's Parish, Marlborough,the Marlborough Women's Club and for the past 41 years the Colonial Garden Club of Marlborough . She was an avid gardener and talented flower arranger who generously shared her time and plantings caring for the island garden on Union St, Marlborough. Her career was her family for whom she loved to cook, always looking forward to holidays and family gatherings.
She is survived by her sons; James Cutone and his wife Lorraine of Cataumet and John and Patricia Cutone of Marlborough, her daughter; Janice Karlson and her husband Don of W. Boylston, her daughter in law; Ellen Cutone of Falmouth, her brothers; George DiRado and his wife Josepha of Santa Barbara, CA and Robert DiRado and his wife Gail of Florida, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Dr. Donald Cutone and the sister of the late Francis and Gino DiRado.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00am at St Matthias Church, Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.Visiting hrs.will be held on Sunday, January 6 from 2-6 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
