Marilyn Frances (Harper) Dingley, 82, of Northborough, MA, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center.
Born and raised in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Charles D.Harper,Sr., and Adeline R. (Fairbanks) Harper and the wife of the late Richard E. Dingley, who died in 1997.
A graduate of Framingham High School, she had been employed as a Transport Dispatcher at the family owned County Line Sand & Gravel Company, Berlin, MA.
Mrs. Dingley served as the president of Happy Homesteader's Square Dance Club, Shrewsbury, and had been a co- coordinator for the 200th anniversary of the Town of Northborough in 1966. She remained active and vital well into her 70's, teaching water aerobics, relaxing with needlework and camping with her husband with the New England Family Camper's Association, etc. . She was a dedicated mother, a talented cake decorator and lover of museums, history, outdoors gardening, cats and butterflies.
She is survived by her sons, David Dingley and his wife Sandra of Northborough and Russell Dingley and his partner Dr. Laura Lorenz of Marlborough, her brother, Richard A."Flash" Harper of Marlborough and her granddaughter, Jennifer Dingley of Boston. She was also the sister of the late James R. Harper and Charles D. Harper, Jr. and the grandmother of the late Michelle Dingley of Northborough.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 18th , from 3-5 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 19th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Framingham, MA, with a reception following to be determined.
