Teophile J." Tiff" Correia, 88, of Marlborough, MA, died Sunday, January 20,2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Hudson, MA, he was the son of the late Felix and Mary (Silva) Correia and the husband of Patricia (Cormier) Correia, to whom he had been married for the past 63 years.
Following his graduation from Hudson High School in 1943, he enlisted in the US Army serving as a Medic. He attended Bentley College, part time, fulfilling the requirements for a degree in accounting,
He retired in 1991, after 42 years of employment at the former General Motors Plant in Framingham, where he had been the supervisor of the paint department.
Mr. Correia had served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Moose Lodge, Marlborough as well as the Treasurer of the UAW Credit Union. He was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, Northborough and was devoted to his wife and family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, David Correia of Hubbardston, Paul Correia and his wife Pauline of Lancaster, his daughter, Cathy Correia Condron and her husband Bob of Northborough, his grandchildren, Daniel Correia, Vincent Correia, Jenna Glynn, Carly Condron, David Correia II, and Evan Condron, and his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Amy, Alex and Kaylee Correia. He was also the father in law of the late Cathy Mae Johnson-Correia, who died in 2008 and was predeceased by 8 brothers and sister.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc. 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 24, at 10:00 am at St. Bernadette Church, Main St. Rte. 20, Northborough,
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough.
